Get started in understanding LibreTexts Libraries and the greater LibreVerse! These are the Free Courses.

Moving to OER can be a big challenge. At LibreTexts we recognize that there are many conveniences of for-profit publishers that make it a difficult switch to embracing lower costs for students and more control over your pedagagy. The Academy at LibreTexts aims to help with that, and for essential training we have a few free courses available: Introduction to LibreTexts: Into the LibreVerse, Explore ADAPT Assessment, and LibreTexts for Students.

Subscription Courses

When you are searching for guided asynchronous training, take a look at our paid course options.

Although the selection of courses above are free, we have additional courses that can be taken through our Academy Online Subscription or by purchasing access individual courses. Note that each LibreNet campus is eligible for a few free subscriptions, so if your campus is a member of the LibreNet, please do reach out to your Campus Admin or Library, and have them contact us.

Many courses or course pathways will result in certifications from the Academy @LibreTexts. 

Professional Development Pathways, Badges, & Certificates of Completion

OER is difficult to master and we believe in recognizing those that have demonstrated competency through training. .

The Academy Online is organized with a few specific Pathways for earning Badges and Certificates of Completion. Even if you prefer to just take a number of entry-level courses, we also offer Certificates of Completion for your professional development portfolios upon completion of at least three Academy Online Courses. Once you have logged in, the details for these are available in the course: "Welcome to LibreTexts Academy Online!"

We also provide regular updates and new features based on user feedback, ensuring that our platform continues to evolve to meet your needs. Be sure to follow updates at our Connections Forum.
