Technologies for Teaching Effectively
Often, the trappings of a for-profit textbook come not in the texts, themselves, but in the technologies that are available to supplement the textbook. At LibreTexts, we want to be able to provide any teaching technology that an instructor may need in order to ditch the for-profit textbook publishing cycle and switch to OER, free textbooks, and minimal cost technology without sacrificing quality.
The next few pages walk through brief introductions to a variety of the most commonly used technologies in the LibreVerse, with the exception of the textbook Libraries themselves; we will discuss these later when we cover authoring and finding OER Textbooks.
Technology Platforms within the LibreVerse

ADAPT homework and assessment platform is a unique software that leverages multiple Open Source homework systems under one single interface and library. Common Open Source projects that specialize in different disciplines have been developed and are outstanding resources. However, they come with the burden of an institution supporting multiple platforms at the same time. ADAPT brings all of these under one roof including iMathAS, WeBWork, H5P, and other ADAPT-only question types.

H5P Studio allows for creation, discovery, and curating of H5P interactives within the LibreTexts platform. When created or migrated to LibreTexts Studio, these interactives are available to be used within textbooks in the Libraries, as graded homework problems in ADAPT, and even used as expository training within ADAPT Learning Trees.
The Launchpad will take you to all of the Libraries as well as all of our technology platforms. The Commons and Conductor are the catalog and project management systems, respectively. Jupyter instance allows for Jupyter Notebooks to be used in classes involving computing, data science, and/or coding. The Forge and Nova are upcoming projects that are in their pilot stages. Learn more about them later in the Development lesson of this course.
Support and Insights provides a Q&A page as well as a full support service. Press the blue question mark in the bottom right corner of any page in LibreTexts, or the "Support" button in ADAPT and you can enter a support ticket that we can answer! Note: we also have FREE Office Hours and FREE Monthly Webinars! Check out the LibreTexts Academy Faculty Resources tab for information on these!

You are viewing this within the LibreTexts Academy Online learning management system. This most recent addition to the LibreVerse focuses on offering training programs for Free for general understanding of LibreTexts for Faculty, Instructional Staff, and Students. Additionally, this Learning Management System allows for institutions to host training programs with assessments and certificates, and a place for further training for Faculty and Instructional Staff to deepen their skills in various parts of the LibreVerse, including specific help for working with ADAPT and textbook authoring. ADAPT for Homework and Assessment
The ADAPT system is extremely versatile and powerful. As it is the technology outside of the LIbraries that is most widely used, we highlight the overview of ADAPT here, but there is another Explore ADAPT Assessment course for FREE within Academy Online as well.
